First
flown on 23 March 1948, the F3D was one of the first purpose
built jet night fighters. The Skyknight served with
distinction in Korea escorting B-29s on night missions when the F-94
Starfire proved unsatisfactory.
The Skynight also served as an early ECM aircraft
in Vietnam from 1965-1969.
