Sikorsky S-43

The Sikorsky S-43 was a scaled down version of the four-engine S-42 and first flew in 1935.

The S-43 entered service with Pan American in 1936 on routes in the Caribbean and Brazil.  Other operators flew this aircraft in China, Hawaii, Norway, the Philippines, Russia and West Africa.  The S-43 was used by the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps (JRS-1) and U.S. Army (OA-8 and OA-11).
