Aichi D3A (Val)

The D3A was ordered into production in December 1939 as the Navy Type
99 Carrier Bomber Model 11. Along with the Nakajima B5N (Kate), the
D3A was the striking arm of the Imperial Japanese fleet that attacked
Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.
"Val" was the Allied code name for the D3A.
