de Havilland Goblin

The Engine Specifications 
 
In 1941, de Havilland was invited to design a fighter and the jet engine to power it.  The H.1 Goblin ("H" for designer Frank Halford) first flew in the D.H.100 Vampire for which it was designed in 1943.

The Goblin also powered the prototype XP-80 Shooting Star.
